Personalize Notes by Changing the Default Font Settings in Microsoft OneNote. Desktop versions of. You can use the Paragraph Spacing options to change the amount of space between lines of text in your notes. Select one or more paragraphs of text. Click Home Paragraph Alignment Paragraph Spacing Options. In the Paragraph Spacing dialog box, enter the numbers (in points) that you want. Out of the box by default your OneNote notebook will have lots of blank pages. But if you are using a stylus or pen to take notes with your tablet using OneNote, try and you are a messy writer like me chances are you would prefer to have some lined paper in your OneNote notebook.

Select a Paragraph with Style
In this article, we choose a paragraph, its style is,
  • Font name: 'Tohoma'
  • Font size: 18
  • Color: Orange
  • Bold: Yes
Save Selection as a New Quick Style
Now, we save the paragraph style as a new GEM quick style.
In 'Gem for OneNote' -> 'Edit' tab -> 'Change' group -> 'Quick Style' -> 'Save selection as a new quick style'.
Setting the Style as Heading 1 Style
In Quick Style window, we create a new Heading 1 quick style:
  • Style Name: TH1
  • Font name: 'Tohoma'
  • Font size: 18
  • Color: Orange
  • Bold: Yes
  • Heading: Heading1
A New Heading 1 Quick Style
After click 'OK' in Quick Style window, Gem will create a new Heading 1 quick style. The quick style will be shown on Gem's 'Quick Styles' list.
Apply This Heading 1 Quick Style
Select a paragraph ( example: 'Convert Paragraph Break to Line Break' ), or put the cursor in a paragraph.
Next, click 'TH1' heading 1 quick style.
Gem will apply 'TH1' style to paragraph 'Convert Paragraph Break to Line Break'.
You will find the normal paragraph change to a Heading 1 paragraph with styles:
  • Font name: 'Tohoma'
  • Font size: 18
  • Color: Orange
  • Bold: Yes
  • Heading: Heading1

Easily to command Line Spacing if you have Classic Menu for Office

Method A: you can find out the Line Spacing button in toolbar under Menus tab. See figure 1. This way is fit for Word 2007/2010/2013, PowerPoint 2010/2013, and Outlook 2007/2010/2013.

Method B: under Menus tab, there list many familiar drop down menu. Click the Format Menu > Paragraph, you will open the Paragraph dialog box (See figure 2).

Under Indents and Spacing tab, you are able to modify the line spacing parameters in Spacing section. This method is available in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook 2007/2010/2013.

Please note that Microsoft Excel and Access do not support Line Spacing command at all.

Method A: the Line Spacing button stays in Paragraph group under Home Tab

In the new ribbon interface of Microsoft Office 2007/2010/2013/2016/2019 (includes Office 365), Line Spacing command is moved into Paragraph group under Home tab. In the middle of Ribbon, you will view the Line Spacing button. In its drop down list, you are able to add space before / after paragraph, set line spacing width, and open line spacing options dialog box.

This method is available for Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 2007/2010/2013.

In Outlook 2007/2010/2013, you can get the line spacing button at similar position: Format Text tab > Paragraph group > Line Spacing button.

Method B: The Line Spacing button stays in Paragraph group under Layout Tab

This line spacing under Layout Tab allows users to customize indent parameters and spacing parameter directly.
